About

edited HELLO and thank you for visiting Martha Who? By you just being here, it means that we already have something in common … a shared passion for FOOD! See, we’re already friends and we just getting started …

My name is Tracey and I live in the breathtakingly beautiful city of Cape Town, with my gorgeous husband Andrew and our equally gorgeous baby boy (he looks just like his Daddy) Hudson.  We also have two  precious fur babies, Mango and Oliver.  We recently made the big move from the hustle and bustle of Atlantic Seaboard City life, to the quiet and orderly burbs… a decision we did not make lightly and almost backed out of, but here we are just over a year in, and we are simply loving it.   Which is a reminder that sometimes you just have to follow your instincts even if it makes you nervous.

That’s exactly what I did when I decided to study to become a chef at the ripe old age of 33.  It took me some time to realise that this passion I had for cooking and for food in general, was more than just a hobby.   It took me a bit longer to get up the courage to embark on a journey of culinary discovery, which has ultimately led me here, to this point, where I have taken the next step, and given up my day job (Eeeeek!) to pursue my dream of opening my own cooking demo studio!

I graduated with a Culinary Arts and Food Preparation qualification in 2014 from City & Guilds and have set about pursuing my passion.

I’ve started this blog for a number of reasons, firstly, to document my culinary adventures – be that looking back on  culinary school, making a special dinner for hubby, hosting a dinner party or catering for a private function – So that I can encourage myself to keep growing and to keep learning. This blog  is also a means of compiling a portfolio of the food I create.  Another reason for the blog, is to share the knowledge I have accumulated over the years, through culinary school and also through years of reading cook books, foodie magazines, watching cooking shows and experimenting.  I’m doing it in the hopes of meeting more like minded individuals and expanding my ‘foodie network’, I’m doing it to create an awareness of my passion and my skill-set and to offer up my services.

My cooking demonstration studio is a place for people to come together and learn how to make wholesome and delicious food for their family and friends, while having tons of fun!   At the end of our time together, you will be leaving with the recipes & the knowledge on how to perfect them, a full belly & some new friendships and perhaps even a doggie bag 😉

I can’t wait to cook with you !
